Be Well Body Scan uses the latest in 64 row multi-detector computed
tomography equipment to perform a total body CT scan. Alternatively
known as "CAT" Scan, CT scanning uses X-rays to obtain 3-dimensional
images of the body. Unlike older models of CT scanners, our state-of-the-art
GE LightSpeed VCT uses 64 detector technology to acquire images of the
entire chest, abdomen and pelvis in less than 30 seconds. This advanced
technology facilitates detection of lung nodules, coronary artery disease,
and colon cancer. In addition to improved detection of disease, the
GE LightSpeed VCT uses up to 30% less radiation than older CT scanners.
In addition to out state-of-the-art CT scanner, BeWell has invested
in the latest software and computer workstations used for analyzing
your scan’s data. Our post-processing capabilities include the
most recent software for performing virtual colonography, coronary
CT angiography, and volumetric analysis of lung nodules. BeWell is
one of a few sites to use computer aided detection (CAD) software
to help the Radiologist identify small (potentially missed) lung nodules.
